    Description
    Orientation for new students in the School of Public Policy's MPA and MPP programs provides an interactive opportunity for incoming graduate students to learn about program expectations and enrichment options, degree requirements, meet SPP faculty and staff, returning students, and alumni, and most importantly, be welcomed into the School of Public Policy (SPP) community!

    6:00-6:15 Check In
    6:15-6:30 Welcome and Team Building
    6:30-7:15 Presentation
    7:15-7:30 Tour of Stamford Campus

    Details and T-Shirt Request
    Attendance at Orientation from 6:00-7:30 pm is required. Orientation will include a presentation and tour of the UConn Stamford campus. Light refreshments will be served. You will have the opportunity to socialize with one another, and get to know the SPP faculty, staff and alumni. You do not need to stay for the entire time.

    Students will receive their free SPP t-shirt and swag bag at Orientation. Please complete our t-shirt order form to request your size.

    Parking
    Parking in the UConn Stamford Parking Lot at 1194 Washington Boulevard is enforced Monday-Friday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. Parking is not enforced after 5:00 pm on weekdays, or on weekends. Stamford Commuter Students are eligible to purchase a commuter permit which allows them to park in the UConn surface parking lot during enforced hours.

    Stamford Commuter Student Permits also authorize parking in the following locations:

    • Avery Point - Commuter Lots A & B
    • Hartford - 100% validation Convention Center Garage (details)
    • Law School - All Commuter student lots
    • Storrs - the commuter sections of "C," "I," "K," and "W" surface lots
    • Waterbury - UConn Waterbury Garage (Levels 2 & 3)

    During the Summer Term and the Fall, Intersession and Spring recess periods, Stamford Commuter Permits authorize parking on any student surface lot EXCEPT within areas designated for use by “Premium Resident” permit holders.

    If you plan to park on campus during enforced hours but do not wish to purchase a parking permit, hourly pay-by-phone mobile parking is also available. 

    Parking permits are available for purchase here. Permits should be purchased before August 20.
